MATAR RICE / MATAR PULAW
it is an Indian dish full of flavours and aroma of rich indian garam masala frying in pure ghee..easy to cook like other rice dish and tasty too.

MATAR RICE RECIPE / MATAR PULAO RECIPE
INGREDIENTS :
RICE : 1 CUP BASMATI RICE
MATAR OR GREEN PEES : FRESH PEES HALF A CUP
PURE GHEE : 2 TABLE SPOON
ONION : 2 MEDIUM SIZED SLICED IN JULLIANS
GINGER : 1 INCH PEICE
CUMIN SEEDS : HALF TEA SOON
SHAHI JEERA : HALF A TEA SPOON
BAY LEAVES : 2-3 IN NO.
DRY RED CHILLI : 2-3 IN NO
CLOVE : 3-4 IN NO
CARDAMUM : 3-4 IN NO.
CINNAMON : 1-2 PIECE OF 1 INCH
STAR ANIS : 1-2 IN NO
BLACK CARDAMUM : 1 IN NO.
CASHEW NUTS : ONE FOURTH CUP
RAISINS : ONE FOURTH CUP
SALT : TO TASTE
SUGAR : 2 SPOON
WATER : AS REQUIRED
MILK : TO SOAK SAFFRON
KESAR OR SAFFRON : FEW STRANDS MAY BE 8-10

HOW TO COOK MATAR PULAO OR MATAR RICE
- firstly wash and soaked the rice in water for about half and hour before start cooking
- sliced the onions in julians .
- take a large pot or kadai with is suitable to make rice put over the flame
- add 2 table spoon ghee heat it
- after that add cumin seeds,shahi jeera ,bay leaves,dry chilli red,cinnamon,cardamum,cloves,star anis,
- add ginger cut it in julians
- add onions fry them till pink in colour
- add pees
- add raisins or cashew nuts
- add soaked rice in kadai
- fry 2-3 min add sugar and salt as required
- add water- one and half cup of water but sometimes it may require more or less water it depends upon the rice. u can add or decrease the amount of water according to needs.
- put the cover
- cook it in medium flame for 7-8 min switch off and add saffron cover it
- let it be cool or after 5-7 min open it.
